Gulagi is now Maylua Studio

Our products have a new home. The studio behind BOO, 1Muse, QR Shop and the Pocket apps — previously known as Gulagi — is now Maylua Studio.

Why a new name?

We wanted a name that says where the software comes from. Maylua joins two Vietnamese words: Mây (cloud) and Lụa (silk). Silk is patient work — thread by thread, light but strong, made to be used for years. That is how we try to build apps.

The mark follows the same idea. It is a single letter — a bronze “m.” — inside one thin ring, its colour borrowed from the Đông Sơn bronze drums cast in Vietnam more than two thousand years ago. Nothing else added. We think restraint ages well.

What changes, and what doesn’t

• Your apps don’t change. Names, data and purchases stay exactly as they are.
• The studio’s home is now maylua.app — every app, its status, and what we’re building next, in one place.
• 9 of our apps are live on Google Play today; 4 more are in review or on the way, and our Now page tracks them honestly, including the waiting.

What we make

Practical software for people who run things: small shops, technicians, sellers. Most of our apps are offline-first, need no account, and are pay-once with no subscription — tools you own, not rents you pay.

Thank you to everyone who used a Gulagi app in the early days. Same team, same work — now with a name that feels like home.
